Why AIS?
AIS can offer a pack-in-place material that can be hand-applied to FCM's in a very short timeframe as no complex tooling is required. Cold curing and low shrinkage mean that the product can be effectively applied in all locations where subsea projects may be commissioned.
Short lead times
AIS insulation can be hand-applied, so it is suitable for the complex geometries involved in insulating instrumentation and can accommodate late design changes and short lead times.
High thickness
AIS insulation can be poured in place so is suitable for rapid application where a high thickness of insulation is required.
Fit and forget
AIS insulation uses syntactic foams with excellent thermal properties that are resistant to hydrostatic pressures. With no operational failures to date, this is a true fit and forget system.
