C25 selected for major project in the Santos Basin, Brazil
Our customer required subsea insulation in Brazil for a large number of SURF structures and jumpers for HTHP (high temperature high pressure) conditions. ContraTherm® C25 was chosen for its excellent thermal properties and long in-service track record. Additionally, the customer has a long history of delivering successful projects in global locations using AIS’s in-house application team.
Insulation of the first PLET (pipeline end termination) structures at the client worksite has begun successfully.
The highlights
Ideal solution
ContraTherm®C25 is an easy to apply, cast-in-place material with no shrinkage or exotherm when curing.
Time saving
Our in-house, in-country application team allows us to mobilize on-site quickly to meet project schedule whilst minimising cost.
Trusted partner
AIS also has long history of delivering subsea protection system projects with the operator.
Solution
AIS were able to provide the client with the same, extensively proven “supply and apply” subsea insulation in Brazil with ContraTherm® C25. By doing so, we lowered their risk and delivered the same excellent quality they expect.
This was made possible by our in-house, in-country application team. Using this team ensured efficient on-site application and allowed us to be flexible enough to accommodate any changes in the client schedule.
Results
The first PLETs have been insulated on-time and we look forward to continuing to deliver for the customer as the project progresses.
João Volpato, General Manager, Latin America said:
“This is the first major SURF contract in the region for many years. AIS are delighted to be able to utilise our experience and know-how with this customer in other regions to deliver the same high quality insulation material and services in Brazil”.
