Following the news that ContraTherm® C25 has surpassed 10 years of service, AIS is delighted to announce that ContraTherm® C55, our multi-layer composite subsea thermal insulation system has been effectively used in subsea applications for over 20 years.

C55 was part of the ConocoPhillips Jade Project before its first major project: Statoil Kristin. Since then, it has been a trusted solution on over 250 completed contracts.

One of the most memorable is Akpo. It is a project we started working on in 2009 and still supply parts for this field 13 years later.

In its 20 plus years of service, we have supplied over 2 million kgs of material. Indeed, C55 has been applied in all major oil basins around the world including the Gulf of Mexico, North Sea, offshore Brazil, West Africa, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, and Canada.

C55 is designed specifically for thermal insulation applications for subsea production equipment. Providing the ultimate in temperature resistance among polymeric materials, it has a stellar track record, and proven hot/wet performance.

We’re excited to see what the next 20 years has in store for ContraTherm® C55.
