Thermal barrier materials

Our flexible, mica-free thermal barrier materials (known as our S1-Series and S2-Series) have been subjected to 100's of live cell tests to ensure optimal performance and protection of battery systems. We have tested various cell formats including cylindrical, pouch, and prismatic so customers can determine which of our thermal barriers are the best fit for their battery type.

Customers rely on these materials to protect against extreme events including a fire or thermal runaway. When battery enclosures are exposed to high temperatures following an accident, our thermal barrier materials provide critical protection.

Our S1- Series of thermal barrier materials alone have been subjected to over 250 live cell tests. This has resulted in solutions that offer reliable protection in extreme scenarios to ensure the safety of battery systems. 

Highly flexible and lightweight

Our thermal barrier materials are ideal for acute angles and complex geometric shapes and measure less than 1 mm thick. Each of our materials offer high levels of protection without intruding into vent space.
