CRP Subsea has secured a sizable contract from a prominent EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Installation) company. The contract involves providing cable protection services for an oil field extension project, offshore Eastern Canada.

For this project over 1.3 kilometres of CRP Subsea’s Uraduct® will be used to protect the flexible flowlines and jumpers within a new subsea infrastructure in water depths of 120 metres. The purpose of this infrastructure is to connect a fixed drilling platform to an existing floating production, storage, and offloading unit (FPSO). Uraduct® will provide drop object protection (DOP) to the flowlines, safeguarding them from potential impacts. Additionally, Uraduct® offers exceptional abrasion resistance, enhancing the overall robustness of the system. Using their engineering proficiency CRP Subsea will supply four variants of Uraduct® to cater for the different pipe diameters. One of these variants is Uraduct® ballast, which will be specifically designed to incorporate the additional submerged weight required.

Matt Burrows, Sales Manager at CRP Subsea, states:

“We are delighted that our market-leading Uraduct® has been chosen to protect the flowlines on this extension project. The contract demonstrates our customers' trust and confidence in our capability to deliver high-quality cable protection solutions. We look forward to further strengthening our relationship with this key customer and having the opportunity to collaborate on even more exciting projects in the future.”

Project engineering is set to commence shortly at our world-class production facility located in the North West of England. The manufacturing operations are scheduled to start in early 2024, with delivery expected in the first quarter.
