AIS is proud to be supporting Jen Deeney on her journey across the UK and Ireland, as she visits 50 lighthouses to raise money for The Lighthouse Club charity.

Jen is well known within AIS, as a speaker at our UK health and safety events. This week we welcomed Jen back to Gloucester. In addition to speaking at our most recent 'Think Safe' event, she is currently undertaking a major fundraising campaign for the Lighthouse Club charity.

The Lighthouse Club supports thousands of construction workers and their families every year, offering aid with emotional, physical and financial wellbeing issues.

Jen lost her husband in a workplace accident 21 years ago, and found support from similar charities. Promising she would never forget this kindness, Jen vowed to do whatever she could to pay it forward. From 8th May to 9th August, Jen is visiting 50 lighthouses across the UK and Ireland to raise awareness and funds for the charity.

As part of her Lighthouse Challenge, AIS arranged for Jen to stay aboard the Sula Lightship in Gloucester Docks (the UK’s only stay-aboard historic lightship) on the nights leading up to our health and safety event, with plans to mark the occasion and help raise awareness of her fundraising efforts.

Jen shares the same values as we do at AIS, and her work embodies the culture which we continually strive for. We are proud to be supporting Jen on her journey as she continues to spread the message that everybody has the right to return to their families at the end of the day.

AIS are proud to be supporting Jen and the Lighthouse Charity. If you would like to show your support for this worthy cause, please follow the JustGiving link by clicking here.
