Manuplas® upgrade fendering for Reefer Terminal Spa

Our marine team recently supplied Reefer Terminal Spa in Italy with six pneumatic rubber fenders, that have body sizes 2.0m diameter x 3.5m length and 80 kPa internal pressure, complete with high protection chains and tyre cage.

Following site visits and consideration of the strict criteria and limits provided by the local port authority, we agreed with our partners at Reefer Terminal a conservative solution, replacing existing pneumatic fenders with a new solution that would provide a longer working life.

Our recommendation also included two additional upgrades:

• Swivelling system – this enables the fenders to rotate whilst floating in line with the swell.
• Pad eyes – designed by us and mounted along the jetty

With installation now complete, Reefer Terminal Spa can be confident that damage to their port from vessels berthing has been minimised. Following completion of the project our contact at the port said, “the work has been great”.
