The scope of work consists of a Shell DEP (ISO 15665) Class D rated acoustic jacket system, developed in partnership with Armacell materials for the main pipelines. AIS will be responsible for providing ContraFlex® jackets for 10 compressor/expander casings and gearbox housings as well as additional scope on the pipeline where removable insulation is required.
ContraFlex® Product Manager Chris Read says: “this was an important project win for our team following the time and resource spent to improve our acoustic product line. Improvements were made by using ArmaGel™ HT to reduce the thickness of a class D system from 105mm previously to just 70mm as a dual layer jacket product. This saves on manufacturing time, installation activity and weight therefore reducing the number of pieces for manual handling. The scope will be manufactured using 3D scan survey technology and will be delivered in the new year.”
As part of this project development, AIS tested a range of new ContraFlex® jacket systems for ISO 15665 Class C (45mm) and Shell DEP Class D (70mm), providing the most efficient jacket system on the market for these classes. Testing took place during the COVID-19 pandemic at the @Peutz facility in Netherlands.
ContraFlex® acoustic jackets can be used on a variety of pipeline systems, flow control valves, fans, compressors, expanders and other rotating equipment. To find out how we can solve your insulation problems, speak to our ContraFlex® team today.
