We are delighted to announce that AIS won the Innovation award at the prestigious Make UK Manufacturing Awards last night. Hundreds gathered to celebrate the best of UK manufacturing in the opulent St. Pauls Cathedral in London and the level of competition in every category makes this award even more rewarding.

Last year, AIS won the South West regional award for innovation and subsequently, we were shortlisted for this national award.

Both the regional, and this national innovation award relates to our unique subsea insulation system ContraTherm® B85. Various teams within AIS contributed towards the development of B85, a solution that provides resistance to high temperatures of up to 204°C and flow assurance at unlimited water depth. A truly innovative product, B85 ensures reliable and consistent flow in the most challenging environments as we navigate the energy transition.

Managing Director, Andrew Bennion:

"National awards like this are hugely satisfying as the shortlist represents the pinnacle of UK manufacturing, so congratulations to all nominated companies on the night. We directed significant resources into this innovation to make it the first product of its kind, so this award is a testament to our commitment to R&D. Developing products for the subsea environment is no easy feat, so this accolade is particularly rewarding as B85 pushes the boundaries of subsea insulation. This wouldn’t be possible without the expertise and dedication of all teams within AIS."

The Make UK Awards were presented by LJ Rich, a leading voice in the tech world, in front of a sold-out venue in one of London’s most famous landmarks. This made the occasion all the more memorable for everyone at AIS.
