Alongside your role, you will be supported in gaining an industry recognised qualification in Payroll Administration, providing you with all the practical skills and knowledge to help you succeed as a Payroll professional.

As our new Trainee Payroll Administrator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing timesheets to the job costing module
  • Calculating payable hours and uplifts based on hours worked and contract entitlements
  • Inputting data into the payroll module
  • Coordinating with the HR department to ensure employee data is correct for payroll
  • Preparing approval paperwork for sign off by signatories
  • Supporting HR with pension and auto enrolment administration
  • Coordinating with supervisors and managers regarding sickness and absence management
  • Providing accounting support for labour variance calculation and analysis
  • Assisting department manager with monthly reports
  • Promoting improvement of processes and procedures
  • Providing general support to the HR and Administration department as needed

What are we looking for in our Trainee Payroll Administrator?

  • No prior experience necessary but some exposure to finance or administrative roles would be beneficial
  • 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C), including English and maths
  • A keen interest in working in a busy payroll department
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office
  • Team player with the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Great attention to detail and highly organised
  • Strong communication skills with people at all levels in the business
  • Driven, hardworking and proactive
  • Able to drive and have access to own car

This is a full-time permanent role, working 08:00-16:45 Monday-Thursday and 08:00-12:30 Fridays.
