Alongside your role, you will be supported in gaining an industry recognised qualification in Payroll Administration, providing you with all the practical skills and knowledge to help you succeed as a Payroll professional.
As our new Trainee Payroll Administrator, your responsibilities will include:
- Processing timesheets to the job costing module
- Calculating payable hours and uplifts based on hours worked and contract entitlements
- Inputting data into the payroll module
- Coordinating with the HR department to ensure employee data is correct for payroll
- Preparing approval paperwork for sign off by signatories
- Supporting HR with pension and auto enrolment administration
- Coordinating with supervisors and managers regarding sickness and absence management
- Providing accounting support for labour variance calculation and analysis
- Assisting department manager with monthly reports
- Promoting improvement of processes and procedures
- Providing general support to the HR and Administration department as needed
What are we looking for in our Trainee Payroll Administrator?
- No prior experience necessary but some exposure to finance or administrative roles would be beneficial
- 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C), including English and maths
- A keen interest in working in a busy payroll department
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office
- Team player with the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Great attention to detail and highly organised
- Strong communication skills with people at all levels in the business
- Driven, hardworking and proactive
- Able to drive and have access to own car

This is a full-time permanent role, working 08:00-16:45 Monday-Thursday and 08:00-12:30 Fridays.
