Thermal runaway poses risks

The energy transition and increased demand for electrical power poses safety concerns. With risks of fire and thermal runaway, the potential for serious harm is high. Assuring the safety of batteries is critical for managing the shift towards sustainable energy and steering the public to make greener choices.

Proven technology

Should a battery enclosure experience high-temperature conditions following an accident, our thermal barrier materials provide the protection required. Using the most advanced technologies, AIS’ solution is the ContraFlame® S1- Series.

Available in various measurements and forms, including a thickness of less than 1.0mm and a custom-fit for acute angles, our S1- Series provides high levels of protection without intruding into vent space. Unlike intumescents, our thermal barrier material does not expand when heated, retaining its thin profile throughout extreme events. In addition to this, our S1- Series weighs up to 70% less than alternative options, contributing towards increased range.
