Responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking development, testing, and qualification of new materials and products
  • Developing and documenting test procedures and methodologies
  • Undertaking hand calculations, analysing and interpreting data, and authoring technical reports
  • Arranging and participating in the preparation of material samples
  • Working in line with requirements of quality, health and safety, and environmental management systems

Ideal candidates will be:

  • Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline (marine/mechanical/materials or similar)
  • Have an understanding of polymers (specifically polyurethanes and their processing), chemistry and materials science
  • Capable and willing to undertake hands-on, practical activities
  • Able to work effectively as part of a small team and autonomously when required
  • Creative and innovative in problem solving and product / process development
  • Confident, assertive, and proactive in approach to work, with a ‘can do’ flexible attitude
  • Capable of working under pressure with consistently high standards of accuracy and quality
  • Able to demonstrate high attention to detail
  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
