AIS thermal barrier battery protection chosen for leading Korean EV platform

As EV adoption accelerates, battery safety remains a critical engineering priority. One of the most significant risks is thermal runaway, a chain reaction where heat from a failing lithium-ion cell spreads rapidly to neighbouring cells, potentially leading to fire events that are difficult to control.

A leading Korean Tier-1 automotive supplier required a thermal barrier solution capable of meeting stringent performance requirements while supporting rapid development. AIS provided ContraFlame® S109, an advanced thermal barrier material for a next-generation electric vehicle (EV) battery platform.
