The offshore Martin Linge field is operated by TOTAL in the North Sea of Norway, and Samsung Heavy Industries were awarded the contract for the topside build. The project required both weather protection and H60 passive fire protection for 40 multi cable transit (MCT) areas. AIS provided ContraFlame® C20 thixotropic silicone to offer a complete solution.

ContraFlame® jet deflectors

Deflect jet fires away from personnel and critical equipment

FPSO hulls and topsides are at risk from accidental high-pressure leaks/jet gas from externally mounted gas risers. Flanged connections are encased to repel any jet gas leaks which can reach 400 kg/s. ContraFlame® jet fire deflectors are a single acting, static device designed to be installed over risers and flanged connections to deflect jet gas leaks away from the hull and critical topside elements.

  • Hydrocarbon pool fire passive fire protection
  • Closed cell structure
  • Waterproof cover SS316
  • Secured with SS316 bolts and fixings
  • Very low smoke and toxic fumes in fire conditions
  • Tolerance to temperatures between -196 °C and +185 °C.
