AIS won the Health, Safety & Wellbeing award at the Make UK South Awards, recognising its Think Safe initiative and the company's ongoing commitment to strengthening its safety culture.
AIS is delighted to have won the Health, Safety & Wellbeing award at the Make UK South Awards, held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Swindon. Presented by Alexia Williams MBE, the evening was another great celebration of manufacturing and the achievements of businesses across our region.
The award recognises AIS' Think Safe initiative, which has been developed to further strengthen our safety culture and reinforce the importance of health and safety at every level of the business.
More than policies and procedures, Think Safe is about creating an environment where people look out for one another, take responsibility and make safety part of every decision. The award recognises the collective effort behind the programme and the work taking place across AIS to continually reinforce safe working practices at its sites.
It is also the third award AIS has received in just three weeks, following the King's Award for Innovation and the EIC WESCA Innovation Award for NjordGuard, its offshore wind cable protection system. To receive recognition across different areas of the business in such a short space of time is a significant achievement.
Winning the regional award also secures AIS a place at the national Make UK Awards in London in January, where we will compete against manufacturers from across the UK.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the development and delivery of Think Safe.
