AIS heads stateside with lightweight firewall solution
Kiewitt needed to protect an LNG tank on an ice canopy from fire hazards and cryogenic spill at the loading pump during the construction phase of its National Grid Commercial Point Plant Modernisation Project. The proximity of the ice canopy structural steel to the LNG tank and the in situ pipework meant a lightweight, prefinished and bolted protection wall was the optimum solution. The ContraBlast® system was the answer.

AIS use laser scanner technology to solve FPSO fire hazard concerns in Malaysia
Working to a tight schedule, our ContraFlex® team were asked to provide a solution to protect equipment in the event of a fire at a FPSO facility located offshore Malaysia. Due to confined working conditions with limited people on board, our team used innovative laser scanner technology to provide fitted jackets and save valuable time.

Protect critical structures without adding excessive weight

FlexiChar® C20i(H) provides lightweight, flexible passive fire protection for structures and processing equipment such as onshore/offshore oil, gas and petrochemical facilities in harsh environments. Offering up to 120 minutes of fire protection and 20 minutes of jet-fire protection, its thin-film coating helps maintain structural integrity without adding unnecessary weight, while remaining flexible in temperatures down to -52 °C.

Protect critical assets with lightweight fire protection

The system provides up to 120 minutes of fire protection in accordance with the UL 1709:2017 and jet fire protection in accordance with ISO 22899-1:2007 for a duration of 20 minutes for structures and processing equipment. FlexiChar® is applied with an air driven, single leg pump or with a basic specification plural pump.

FlexiChar® C20i(H) provides up to 120 minutes fire protection to UL 1709:2017 and jet fire protection to ISO 22899-1:2007 for a duration of 20 minutes for structures and processing equipment.
Lightweight solution
FlexiChar® C20i(H) is the thinnest dry film thickness (DFT) solution across the 60, 90 and 120 minute fire duration in accordance with UL 1709:2017, offering effective protection without excess bulk.
-52°C to +80°C operating temperature
FlexiChar® C20i(H) remains flexible, even in arctic temperatures, meaning it offers effective fire protection on vibrating structures and processing equipment in even the harshest environments.
