ContraFlame® IC10 is an intumescent coating that protects lightweight and thin components from the effects of fire or thermal runaway. When the material is exposed to high temperatures it rapidly forms a tough, insulating char that will provide insulation to protect the substrate.

Lightweight protection for safer battery enclosures

IC10 combines high-temperature fire protection with a lightweight, flexible coating that can be applied to complex battery enclosure designs. Its variable thickness allows the level of protection to be tailored to the application supporting demanding automotive environments.

Protection against extreme temperatures
IC10 maintains the structural rigidity of the battery cover in temperatures in excess of 1200 °C. It is resistant to flame erosion, maintains barrier properties, and emits low smoke and toxicity.
Operating temperature range -40 °C / +150 °C
ContraFlame® IC10 is effective at continuous high in-service temperatures and maintains flexibility at low temperatures. It is electrically insulative and resistant to underbody conditions.
Flexible to the size of your project
IC10 is suitable for low volume manual applications and high volume automated spraying.
