Ballast module
Controlled ballast for subsea stability
Ballast modules provide additional submerged weight to flexible pipes, umbilicals and cables, helping to protect subsea lines, maintain bottom stability and prevent over-tension. They can also be used to create and maintain the required lazy-wave configuration in dynamic systems, providing controlled weight distribution for demanding subsea applications.

Benefits
Durable ballast for demanding subsea environments
Iron cast ballast modules are designed to withstand extreme subsea loads while maintaining the required configuration throughout the life of the project. Elastomeric pads within the modules provide compatibility with minimum bend radius requirements, while sacrificial anodes provide corrosion protection.

Bespoke design
AIS engineers analyse requirements to optimise the design and deliver bespoke solutions with weight in water from 5 kg to 100 kg and material density from 7 to 11 to ensure optimum line protection.

Robust and durable
Modules are designed and rigorously tested to withstand extreme loads across the 30 year lifespan of a service line. They are maintenance free and their end-of-life properties have been considered.

Easy installation
Designed for in-line installation using standard tools with integrated lifting points, reducing offshore handling time, improving safety and lowering installation cost.
