AIS has received its seventh King’s Award for Enterprise, recognising the innovation behind NjordGuard, our cable protection system developed for the offshore wind industry.
The award was presented at our Gloucester headquarters by Edward Gillespie, Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire, joined by Andrew Tabor, Deputy Lieutenant, and David Owen, Director of Economy and Environment at Gloucestershire County Council.
Developed by our team in Skelmersdale, NjordGuard is an example of the engineering expertise and innovation within AIS. The system provides cable protection for offshore wind applications, supporting the safe and reliable operation of renewable energy infrastructure.
During the presentation, Edward Gillespie took a particular interest in the innovation behind NjordGuard and the people responsible for bringing it to life. He praised both the development of the system and our team in Skelmersdale whose work made it possible.
A proud milestone for AIS
This latest recognition marks our seventh King’s Award for Enterprise, including awards received under the former Queen’s Award for Enterprise name. It reflects our longstanding commitment to developing innovative engineering solutions and the contribution of our people in turning ideas into practical applications.
Andrew Bennion, CEO of AIS, said:
“Receiving our seventh King’s Award for Enterprise is a significant achievement for AIS and a reflection of the expertise within our company. NjordGuard is a great example of what our people can achieve, combining technical knowledge with a clear understanding of the challenges our customers face."
The King’s Award for Enterprise is one of the UK’s most respected business honours, recognising outstanding achievement in areas including innovation. For AIS, this latest award celebrates both the success of NjordGuard and the people who continue to drive our business forward.
