Protection against overbending and structural failure

Bend stiffeners prevent overbending at termination points by increasing stiffness and maintaining minimum bend radius. They reduce bending stresses, curvature and point loading, protecting flexible pipelines, umbilicals and cables from structural damage and fatigue in dynamic offshore environments. Manufactured from an elastomeric material, the bend stiffener is suited to the constant wave and current-induced motion of dynamic installations, and can also be used for static applications.

Gradual stiffness
Its conical shape provides gradual stiffness to the umbilical or flowline, helping control bending behaviour at termination points and ensuring the structure transitions safely between flexible and rigid sections during operation.
Overbending protection
