Buoyancy modules are composed of buoyancy elements which provide the uplift force, assembled on a steel support designed to withstand specified load cases.

  • Buoyancy elements are made of syntactic foam encapsulated in a polyethylene external skin
  • Syntactic foam properties are optimized to reach the required buoyancy at operating water depth
  • The shells are designed with grooves to ensure they remain centralised
  • Buoyancy modules are designed in compliance with international offshore standards, including API17-L1 and API17-L2.

Materials used have been selected for their durability over time meaning that once installed, no maintenance is required.


Polymer buoyancy modules are designed to withstand extreme loads. All designs are tested in full scale at their limit.


Half shells are moulded using a yellow coloured resin to comply with offshore standards regarding subsea visibility.
